My first and latest build

Well ive been a pc gamer for a long time and owned several gaming pcs over the years including a gaming laptop however i had never built my own pc and this was my first build. this build was done using some feedback from the community on an old topic i did when i was picking parts

i appreciate your opinions and feedback on what i could do to improve or further tune my pc.

a few notes

1) i know the power supply is overkill but i wanted to give myself ample room for upgrading later down the line maybe add another card or what not also i like that since the system as a whole doesnt pull close to its full wattage it stays very cool and very silent.

2) im adding a second intake fan very soon

3) i have planned a few cosmetic upgrades such as custom sleeved cables and maybe a mod to the gcard cover in order to make it white

4)all prices are in AUD

5) the build was made a couple months ago

6) in the part list there is no storage because i repurposed drives that i had lying around in total

2x seagate 2tb
1x WD blue 4tb
1x toshiba 250gb (repurposed from an old laptop) thinking of installing linux on it
1x plextor msata ssd 128gb (repurposed from an old laptop) used as boot drive

here it goes

Very nice balanced build, very clean for a first attempt, no the most colour matched, however there is nothing there that stands out in a bad way, so overall very nice sleek build

Overkill PSU, everyone seems to get this mismatched these days however, but allows for upgrades

Good job

thanks

i did try to get it more color coordinated but parts availability in early december was very low here in melbourne so i had to make compromises. that is something i plan to fix though later with custom sleeving and some paint mods and see how it goes

Do you plan on doing any overclocks on your CPU/GPU?

maybe further down the line not atm, though i suspect im going to need a better cooler for that

im running a 6600k on a noctua UHD12 and OC'd it to 4.1ghz, your cooler looks similar so i presume that you should be able to get a moderate OC on your chip aswell

holy balls, someone has a nice camera/skills to use it xD

was actually looking to upgrade to skylake myself, mostly for teh m.2... teh GB/s speeds

Thanks if you are curious its a Nikon D3100 its an entry level DSLR from a few years back though a camera wont do you any good if you dont know how to use it.

i have m.2 support but im not sure its worth it yet not for a gaming pc at least. i only do normal office suite work and here and there some audio and photo editing but nothing too fancy
