Hello to all! Lately I'm feeling the urge to buy a tablet. The uses I have for it: - browsing and media - transferring from SD to external hard drive and reviewing and maybe correcting pictures - some productivity
Now I don't know what to pick ... an android tablet (Samsung SM-P600 Galaxy Note 10.1 at 290$) or a Windows tablet (Encore 2 10 inch at 250$). The main question I think I'm asking is: which will be better? Android 5 on the Samsung or Win 10 on the Encore? What do you think?
Also, I'm from East EU, so Amazon isn't quite an option.
I'd say the Encore 2 is the best option. even if you don't like windows you should be able to format it and install any version of linux on it. plus x86 cpus have access to a more upto-date version of flash and web browsers have more features. which means it's better for web browsing.
then again the samsung will most likely have better battery life.
If you need Windows apps, get the Windows tablet. If browsing and media consumption is what you do the majority of the time you use it, go Android.
I got a Shield Tablet a few weeks ago and have been using it to take lecture notes, browse the web, and watch Netflix and YouTube videos. It's great at all of those things. With the 10 inch screen on that Galaxy tablet, I don't think you'd have a problem.
You can use a USB OTG (on the go) adapter to connect up an external drive to the tablet. But if you wanted to transfer from the SD card to the external drive, you'd have to use the tablet as an in between. Unless you could run an SD card reader and an external drive from one connector at the same time, but that's probably going to need more power than what can be delivered through one USB.
