My dad wants to buy a cheap laptop for Skype, any suggestions?

am looking at a bunch of cheap laptops on amazon less than $300 but i don't wanna make a bad decision. ultimately its a Skype computer and web browsing, that is all. 

 

I have looked into the chromebooks but apparently chrome's OS doesn't allow for Skype

Look for a Sony 11" ultrabook. It's $296.99 in my area. Go for ultrabooks or netbooks for the low prices. Any I guess..

as mentioned, chromebook doesn't allow for skype yet. it uses a different software.

You could use Google Hangouts instead of Skype.This is probably your cheapest option.
