My computer keeps turning off

My brother and I are having problems figuring out why my computer keeps turning off, nothing is overheating, we both think its the power supply short circuiting and he's thinking of reinstalling windows tomorrow to see if that will help, anyone have any suggestions to why it happens?

The games that it shuts off while playing are - Infinite Crisis, Wildstar and Smite. No matter how low the graphics get it'll still shut off. (Apologies in advanced if I should be posting this somewhere else on the site)

If its shutting off during games then it is either a bad overclock or the system is sucking up to much power.

The computer is hooked up to a APC battery, shouldn't that help with the power problem? And how do I overclock my computer?

No. He mean's your PSU wattage is too low and can't provide enough juice to your components.

It would help if we knew what your build was and had a reading of the temps.

what is your PSU?

Thermaltak

You need a more powerful power supply, I use this:

I know I sound like a complete idiot but uh, where do I check the full build of my PC? I didn't build it and idk if all the info is in the dxdiag

Thanks for the help!

seriously dude? you're gona have to tell us more than that.

Excuse me, but how the hell do you know that? Most systems can run off less than 450w. He never listed his specifications or the wattage of his PSU. Don't go telling him when you don't know for sure.

Well, if you open up device manager you can see all of the components or most of them. Other than that you can always pull the side panel off and look.

Can you take the side panel off the PC and give us a picture of the stickers on the small box that the power cable is connected to?

corsair tx650

XFX Radeon HD 6950

FC Gigabyte Daual PCI express 2.0 (I'm not sure if that's the actual name of the motherboard)

The RAM is kind of hard to see its like the last three letters are "aws". Sorry I'm a totally idiot when it comes to this

Yeah 650W is way more than enough for that system.

earlier you said thermaltak... ._.

I just said I use that one, i'm not recommending one to him. Mezugon if you want me recommended one please tell me what wattage your power supply if now or if you can't find it tell me your exact system specs.

Edit:

Earlier you said you had a thermaltak psu then you said you have a tx650. What is it?

it is, I mean is...I think

take it to geeksquad at bestbuy, they will help you.

yeah its a tx 650, the thermaltake is a cooler
