My computer build

My computer build is as follows:

-Intel i5-3570k processor

-MSI Z77MA-G45 motherboard

-Crucial Ballistix DDR3-1600 8GB RAM

-EVGA GeForce GTX 650 TI Superclocked 1GB graphics card

-Raidmax Aeolus case

-COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler

-1TB Western Digital Caviar Green HDD

Comment what you think, I like it personally but, it could use some fintetic touches.

Nice build, love the Ivy Bridge. But what about switching out the Caviar Green for Black? Especially if it's going to be your only drive so all your games, OS, and such will be on it.

don't get a green drive, stick with blue or black

Asus one is better

if you intedn on OCing past 4Ghz then I would get a Cooler master TPC 812 or $90 Phanteks cooler

the 212 just doesn't cut it for ivy

I agree with going black with your HDD. The other thing I would do is increase you’re RAM to 16GB. Better to have a little extra now. Keep that lovely CPU cooler with a better CPU cooling unit. Myself I use and like the Cooler Master V6 twin fan and 6 heat pipes.

Don’t forget you need to cough up for an operating system too. Good luck and enjoy your build.

Is this system for gaming or more general use? For gaming builds you'll want to, on average, spend about 1.5X more on the GPU than you do on the CPU. The GTX 650 is a fairly underpowered card compared to the rest of the build. For this build I'd expect you to drop about $180-$210 on the GPU.

Also, green drives are terrible, terrible speed and terrible failure rate.

I never got notifications on this post, I would have replied sooner otherwise.

I've updated this build with an EVGA Geforce 660 TI Signature2 FTW 2GB card, and possibly the Adata SX900 128GB if I can talk my dad into it. Otherwise, just the graphics card upgrade. My dad threw a curve ball at me saying $750 is my budget including a monitor, and I'm not allowed to go AMD... So certain things will be unaffordable to me, sadly. If it comes down to it, I'll have to suffer with the Caviar Green drive :/
