My AMD build, for around $1500, Did i do good?

Any suggestions and or opinions would be appreciated!

NEW and IMPROVED list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/atomicfire7/saved

I do wish to play contemporary games at Max/Ultra settings such as: Rome Total War 2, Starcraft 2, Battlefield 4, and much more

Any suggestions on a GPU that would work best keeping me in $1500 range would be great, and thanks for your guys feedback!

UPDATE: I will go with the ASUS GTX 770 over the R9 MSI 280x, imo it is better overall for gaming. Thoughts and opinions?

8350+ocing cooler on 4+1 power regulation system

seems fine other than that, i'd get lower latency ram, lower clock too if it's cheaper

Looks pretty decent. I would have gone with one of the Asus M5A99X boards but those are my favorite. The Extreme 4 is decent for the price. However I wouldn't do much overclocking on that board...

RAM speed isn't really that important on non APU based systems. Lower frequency and lower latency and lower price is what I would do there.

You need 6TB of storage and a optical drive? Also that PSU is a bit excessive a 650W unit would have been plenty.

Other than that though it looks good.

You are going to want a higher end motherboard then that, and you will need low profile RAM with that heatsink. Also, the failure rates on the higher capacity seagate HDDs are relatively high.

Here's an updated more cost effective build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2coiJ

the Asrock 970 extreme 4 is a terrible board, for a FX8350 to run on realy. 4+1 powerphases cheap ass analog vrm´s.... Pickup a better motherboard Asus M5A99FX pro R2.0. 6+2 powerphase digi vrm.

GPU: change your gpu for the Msi R9-280X gaming.

850W psu a  a littlebit of overkill unless you ever plan on crossfire. otherwise 650W will be more then enough.

Sorry can you re-word that. I don't really understand your question.

Sorry, what is the difference between the MSI and the Sapphire

The sapphire you selected is not a GHZ edition, it stocks at 870mhz and boost´s to 1020mhz, but its not constantly that speed. Thats why this particular card is a littlebit cheaper. the Msi R9-280X is a GHZ edtion at stock.

Grtz Angel ☺

The sapphire is just boosting up to make the higher clock speed and the msi just starts there essentially.

Oooh, thanks, this is my first build and i am quite the novice!

No problem im still awake at 4:30 AM. just for you guys haha ☺

Jeez where in the world are you?

its only 10:23 in Indiana

Just making sure, this build will be able to run all contemporary games at ultra/max settings right?

Netherlands lol ☺

90% but some may require a little tune done to get 60fps

I have to ask... why wouldn't you do an Intel build with $1500 to work with? I hope not for the expense of an 850w PSU and 2 3TB HDDs, and then sacrifice mobo performance and downgrade GPU as well?

I also question the need for a full tower?

If you have needs for such, then it can make sense... but from your previous threads I feel like you're downgrading things that matter for things that don't and are easily upgradable

Spending an extra $150 for an I7 and then downgrading your GPU dosen't make sense for a gaming rig. Your GPU is more important for this application so why downgrade it for a less needed part?

yeah well at 1080p  you should be able to max out everything. with an R9-280X.

only like i said a few posts ago, its important to pickup a decent motherboard for that powerhungry 8 core. and the psu is overkill, unless he want to go with crossfire some day.

I saw that it can't max out far cry 3. let alone stuff like crysis 3 and Bf4.
