Okay. So I just got my second PC build ever completed and I overclocked it to 4.7 GHz. After I overclocked it I verified it was stable by running Prime95 for 24 hours. Is this a good verification or is there something else I should do to verify it is completely stable. During the stress test I noticed that my package temps peaked at 70°C, but they were only there for a couple of seconds. The temps seemed to normally stay at around 55-57°. I did the overclock by adjusting the Multiplier to 47. I set my voltage at 1.25v in manual for the duration of the stress test and set it back to adaptive after I was finished. This is my very first time overclocking so I want to ensure that I did it correctly. I have posted some pics of the finished build http://imgur.com/a/Gxb1o. This is my parts list http://pcpartpicker.com/p/LyJwpg if anyone has any recommendations or comments please share them with me. I want to learn as much as possible. I am currently in school for IT and I plan to start my own business when I am finished with schooling so I need to learn as much as possible before I finish. Thank you all in advance. I can't wait to hear what everyone has to say.
Do not use Prime95 on that processor. Prime95 calls for more voltage than what is set and can therefore damage the processor.
Now I wish I would have posted and asked about all this yesterday before I ran Prime95 for 24 hours... Thank you for the info though. I'll definitely not be using it any time in the future.
