Murdering my console build

Been sweating about ordering some parts for my build but I'm still reluctant on making the transition. I guess its cold feet.

On to the build.

Budget: 500 bucks-ish. Can go higher, but looking to get more bang for my buck.

Objective: Play older generation games and newer generation games. (Dead Rising 3, GTA 5 and such) I've been hearing about how poorly optimized most games are going to be coming to the PC, but I'm not going to shell out another 400 bucks for a system that makes me pay month by month to use their crappy service.

Again, not looking to crank out 120 frames on 1080p. I'm coming from playing a 360 for nearly seven years. I can stand the resolution being lower, but I want to take advantage of the immersion ability attached to the PC. Thanks in advance for the wonderful advice and have an awesome day.

Well I wouldn't say "murdering" but it isn't bad, all the parts are good for what it is and the whole system is about on par with the current gen consoles. Maybe try get a 270x?

Much better and only $511.57

  • Asus A55BM-E Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard
  • G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Best I could do for $500

I kinda like this build. What do you think about the Intel Processor 3258 and gaming in the future with this processor?

Two cores is getting a bit slow nowadays.  Also, to overclock it properly, you need a Z97 motherboard, which can add up to costs.
