When using multiple GPU configs, how had the cable routeing for multiple moniters work? Do you plug all the monitors into one card, or do go one screen per card? I am considing using Nvidia Surround Vision with multiple GTX 670's and was interested in how you config the cables when hooking everything up.
I'm pretty sure it doesn't have to be hook up to just one GPU.
How does the the setup work when plugging different screens into different cards?
Well I don't have multiple GPU's, so I don't really know. But I know in the Nividia GeForce GTX Titan 4way SLI demo they had 1 dvi output for the first gpu, then 1 for the second and then 1 for the 4th. I'm guessing 1 video output per gpu. Anybody can correct me if im wrong
I'm under the impression that it doesn't really matter.
i have 2 6850's and i have 2 monitors each monitor is hooked up to the same gpu. when i try one monitor to each gpu it does not work. i cant speak for the nvida side but im pretty sure its the same way. when you sli/xfire you link the gpu's together and have one main and the rest assist it. so lets say that you have 4 gpu's that means that you have 1 main gpu to plug in all monitors and 3 gpu's assisting in the processing of information being pushed to the monitors. if you were to disable sli/xfire then you could plug all monitors into separate cards and have each card process all the information that each screen needs to display separately.
if this is not the case feel free to correct me.
