I reformatted my pc the other day because it was being slow, and it was recommended by a fair few people on this site. That didnt exactly work, I'm thinking it was a faulty install. So tomorrow I'm buying an SSD and putting Win7 on my pc instead as its a little more compatible with a few older games I like to play.
Anyways, the point of this post is that I physically cannot get rid of the error above. After reinstalling windows, GTA5 no longer works (Reinstalled a few times) and Assassins Creed 4 (also reinstalled a few times) also no longer works. Both of which throw the Error "Game failed to launch, MSVCR100.dll is missing blah blah blah". Some basic googling told me it was a Microsoft visuals redistributal thing. Download all the .NET and C++ stuff. Which I did. Installed. ETC > rebooted > Didnt work > Uninstalled > Rebooted > Reinstalled > still didnt work > Rage > Teksyndicate.
Ive actually been trying this for a few days now. And no progress what so ever. No matter what I do, I cannot get rid of this error.
I desperately need help! Like, I will bow down on my knees and worship whoever, is able to help fix this problem, for the rest of eternity!
I would also like to add, after dowloading all the official files from microsoft, and installing and that not working, I decided to try using the ones that came with Far Cry 4. Also didnt work. So its not a bugged download from MC
It depends, what version of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package were you using? The one you list should mean you are required to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package x86 and x64.
At one stage I'm pretty sure I had all installed. But I have also had only 2010 installed and no others. It's like it installs, but then doesnt actually work. Or it doesnt allow games to access it or whatever
msvcr100.dll is in System32, along with msvcr100_clr0400.dll when I search for "msvcr100.dll", however only msvcr100_clr0400.dll is in SysWOW64 when I search the same thing
Im hopefully getting an SSD today, so I will be doing a clean windows install again, with none of my other HDD's plugged in. Hopefully that will sort it out.
