About a week ago i decided to RMA my old MSI 660ti PE's (one of which had already been for rma twice) so i could give them to my brother and sister.
Today I received the replacements, one was doa (no display) and the other one causes display driver crashes (which was why both went for rma in the first place).
Total no. of faulty MSI 660TI's i've had including the latest replacements = 6
What should I do?
Send them back again, request a refund or sell them as is on ebay?
Before anyone suggests it, it isn't me or my systems causing the problem.
I do know that MSI is is over volting these cards, but i don't think that is the cause of the problem.
All i can suggest is to test the one card with driver crashes in a another system to rule out any thing in the system being the cause.
That's what I thought, but i got the same results.
I requesting a refund or different model, the last responses i got from MSI "It could be Mainboard or PSU" I listed the systems i had tried with and then i got "600W is too small for today’s standard."
I don't know about you but I think it looks like they are trying to get out of giving me a new card or refund.
After a few emails, one of the guys at MSI offered to replace both cards with 1 R9-290. I accepted his offer.
I might have to buy a new psu for my brother's PC, I don't think a 3 year old OCZ ModXStream Pro 600w is going to cut it.
