I brought my MSI Radeon R9 280X Gaming 3G Twin Frozr IV OC PCI Express Graphics Card about a month ago and since when playing the only PC game I play which is World of Warcraft. I get a large black square flickering on screen. the card also came with Thief, tomb raider and another game. Even though I do not like to play pc games they also have the black square flickering. I am told this is the card over heating? It is only about 3 weeks old.
Any ideas why?
Thank you
What are your temperatures under load? Keep a log of it using GPU-Z or monitor it using On Screen Display in MSI Afterburner so you can monitor it during gameplay.
On Afterburner is it going at a steady 63c
63 degrees is fine. It's not a problem with overheating.
I think those cards are factory oced to 1020mhz so try and reduce it to 1000mhz. Also make sure that you are on the stable drivers and not the beta ones.
Good point, on Gaming setting it is mostly on 1000mhz sometimes goes to 1020mhz. How would I keep it on 1000mhz or lower?
