Hey! If you want to keep that build quiet, think about doing the inverted layout on that Dark Base 900, it gives the CPU more direct airflow:

I personally asked bequiet! to sell me an extra 135mm fan to replace the 120mm fan on the Dark Rock TR4, sounds much better to me :slight_smile:

So you’re also having trouble with the HWM kernel and LLVM 7 as well with nomodeset on 18.04.2. That display scrambling is indicative of that combination failing @wendell.

Nouveau actually works decently for a 18.04.2 live environment on the GTX 1070 and 1080 FE (or the 11Gbps model) with HWE and LLVM 7 as long as you only use one monitor. Maybe that could be a better option for viewing IOMMU groups in the future. RX 580 works too.

In the meantime, can you print the IOMMU groups for this board in a post? It was really hard to see because LLVM and the Kernel couldn’t do software rendering properly during nomodeset.
