Hi peeps,
so...yesterday my MSI GTX 970 started to suddenly show artifacts and the video card driver crashed due to TDR timeouts. I restarted the PC and it seemed fine again until i physically moved the GPU a bit. It sags quite a bit and i wanted to check if lifting the card changes anything and indeed it did....it got worse while doing so.
This seems to translate to a broken solder joint or something like that, since it comes up as soon as I physically lift the GPU.
Now my question...Is there a possibility that reflow soldering the card will fix this? I'm not a newbie in reflow soldering as I work in electronic manufacturing and actually have an oven where I can set a custom temperature curve.
Does anyone have any experience in that topic (what temps are needed etc)?
