Msi 990FXA-GD65 V2 VS MSI 970 GAMING

**pretty simple question ! i am going to upgrade my motherboard as old one is giving alot of issues and these both come in the same price range 990 fxa is 11 $ more but thats it so please tell me which one do u think in better in this price ratio also i am going to hook up my 8350 with it **

For $11 more get the board with the 990FX Chipset for sure.

though it does not have a usb 3.0 front pannel connector and it looks kind of ugly though has decent accessories

but on the other side 970 gaming comes with alot of accessories but its a 6+2 phase board now >.> its hard to decide so please help

On Newegg, there is a promo code that makes the MSI 970 Gaming $15 cheaper - so it is around $85. That's tough.

The GD65 is probably the one geared more towards performance, because it will probably hold an overclock better, and is better suited for Crossfire/SLI setups.

But, if you only plan on using one card, and do not plan on overclocking a ton, the 970 would still be a good investment. It also has a better audio chipset - although you probably won't notice the difference.

Front panel USB is something you really should have these days.

well i live in india so new egg meh does not work here with those shipping costs lol

i can still make it work with this http://www.amazon.in/CNCT-19-Pin-USB3-0-USB2-0-Adapter/dp/B00V3F44JO

Well, that certainly changes things.

How much does the Asrock 970 Performance cost for you?

What are your goals with the motherboard?
Msi 990FXA-GD65 is rubbish by the way.

the main difference between 970 and 990 chipset is the ability to do x16/x16 crossfire and sli. If you don't plan on doing this, and i strongly suggest you don't, because even 9590 is kinda not enough for decent CF-SLI combo, so if you don't need the CF/SLI, then you can easily go with 970...
In my career as AMD fanboy i have learned to avoid MSI and Asrock as mobos for AM3+ and older platforms.
May i suggest Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 for 990FX option with USB3 front panel, 8+2 phases VRMs etc, and Gigabyte 970A-UD3P for 970 option, again with 8+2 power phases, front USB3, bla bla bla, so on and so forth. 110$ for 990FX and around 75$ for 970A mobo.
What is your current mobo and what kind of issues it is having?
