mSATA SSD... damn it

Mistake #1

So while I was switching SSDs in and out of my cart I managed to order a m-sata ssd instead of a normal sata drive...

Mistake #2

So when I got it I was thinking wow these new sata drives are really light.  I opened it up to find it isn't a normal drive..

So I call up Newegg and tell them what is going on.  They said if it is unopened I can get a full refund.  I mayyyyy have told them it wasn't opened.  So right before I got off of the phone with them they noted if it is open they can't process the refund when they get it...

Is their any use for it in a PC or do I need to find a little round clear sticker and send it back?

could just buy an adaptor...

Do you think it will take a hit to performance?

shouldn't be. i've heard msata is faster than regular sata, but i'm not sure how true that is.

a lot of gigabyte and high end ASUS boards have M-Sata ports on the motherboard, as well as mini ITX, you can use them in laptops too so if you're looking to upgrade to z77 there you go

it is by no means faster than regular sata, it should be around the same speed though.

the really nice asrock boards have it too, but I don't think you want to spend $300 on a mobo....
