mSATA or SATA SSD?

Just wanted your opinion on mSATA vs SATA SSDs. As far as I can tell, it doesn't really matter so long as the mSATA slot is 6GB/s.

I'm choosing between Samsung 840 EVO 250GB and the mSATA version for a desktop.

I was just about to ask the same thing and this helpful little pop up appeared like some guiding angel of wizardry here. What did you end up doing? I'm pretty much looking at the same thing, except I am looking at a different SSD because it's cheaper.

mSATA uses different (mostly smaller) connectors than SATA.

So get whatever the laptop uses or what the desktop's cables are compatible with. In the case of a desktop that will be SATA, not mSATA

Well if you got an mSATA slot that support SSD and want to save space go ahead and buy it. Most likely the mSATA will have slower Read/Writes than the 2.5" drive. If you desire faster speeds you are going to have to go M.2 SSD most likely with a PCI-E 4x adapter.

I ended up going with the regular SSD for aesthetic reasons. (H440 case)

That was probably the smartest move as its also more mainstream and probably cheaper to get
