(I hope I am posting this in the right topic...)
So I am planning on installing my OS to my SSD, and using the HDD as my storage. Though I will admit, I am very old fashioned, and I like using my desktop for easy organization. Rather then just putting a bunch of shortcuts to folders and what have you, is it possible to set the desktop to a different default drive? I figure that would eliminate a lot of unecesary usage of the SSD.
Yes, go to
C:\Users\(Your User Name)
right click on the desktop folder and find the "Location" tab, then go from there. You should also do this with the folders inside your AppData folder to prevent as many writes to the SSD as possible
Cool, thanks for the tip.
Yah i did this and it qorks well. Put my documents on a drive and pictures/videos/ etcc on another drive. The only thing i noticed was that the windows search for files and stuff takes a lot longer since it has to look through more drives
I have never used a MAC but linux's search is terrible.
I think I'm with Mak (Maks hacks) where I am overly anal about organizing my drives so I am not worried about windows search.
