Moving from console to PC (newbie)

Thats right, anything man made will fail at some point. Mass produces will increase failer rates. The MSi 24hr burn in test was a selling feature and just saw how much they want to build a good product.

how much did you pay?

if its just for gaming and not video editing, you might save yourself some cash on just getting a 2500k SandyBridge instead of the ivybridge. there isnt much difference in performance and i think logan even says that a 2500k is better at overclocking ;-)

Why stop at 60 fps dude? Why not 60+? :D

You don't exactly overclock an HTPC though.

I'm not basing my opinion on MSI boards solely on my board that died. MSI's bios is just really, really bad, and in my experience MSI boards don't like to overclock above 4.7Ghz. Unless they fixed that recently, I would suggest staying away from MSI.

What does that have to do with video editing? Both CPUs are around the same performance. The 2500K will overclock higher, but not by an exceptional amount.

The only reason to bring up video editing is if someone is considering an i7 or FX 8350.

personally i would go with a lesser expensive mobo maybe get yourself a new monitor?

I payed $169.99 for the 3570k http://www.microcenter.com/product/388577/Core_i5_3570K_34GHz_LGA_1155_Processor. Scandeck extreme 128gb was $99.99 and the Raptor was $100.00. So I think I did save money. Just have to shop around. Not everything is cheaper at newegg but newegg is still awesome. 90% part are coming from newegg.

As for the monitor. I bought one 4 months ago and its still good. BenQ GL2450HM 24" 1080p 60mhz 2ms G2G. Will upgrade to 120mhz later this year.

congrats on your move my friend... you will be completely satisfied with better graphics and games now :D

Thanks. Now neweeg's 3day shipping is turning into 5day shipping lol.
