Moving a case with a large CPU cooler

I am going to build myself a new computer which will eventually get moved around (going to LAN parties and such) and I was thinking to get the Deepcool Gamer Storm Lucifer (it weighs about 1100 grams).

Will moving the case with such a large cooler as the Lucifer installed put too much strain on the motherboard?

As a side note, the case is a Fractal Design Arc Miditower (the first version, not version 2), and I don't plan to overclock, I chose the Lucifer because of the way it looks (I know it's very vain, but it's dead silent and will be more than enough to cool an FX 8350 at stock).

Just try to be careful I guess, But if you are not overclocking there are lower profile coolers that are silent that do the job. Maybe the noctua Nhl9i or something like that it as Low profile as it gets.

I like to use water coolers in lan rigs. As they place little stress on the socket.

I'll get a smaller cooler then, thank you for the advice.

absolutely do not chance moving a computer with a large cooler on it, your better off taking it off to move it unless your comfortable risking bending pins. Speaking from experience here, I was gentle while moving my computer. A scythe Mugen V2 bent the pins on my motherboard while I was moving it about 5' to do some cable management. I straightened the pins with a mechanical pencil but that doesn't matter, it was really dicey to bend the pins back straight. Go for a lower profile cooler or a closed loop solution if your going to be moving it with any degree of frequency.

Did the Mugen bend the CPU socket pins? Really? How did you realize that? Did your computer fail to boot?

So I guess taking my noctua nh-d14 cooled rig to LANs is out of the question? lol
