Move Win 8.1 to SSD

Hi,

if I would move to a SSD, would it be better to clean install? Win 8 (Now it is 8.1) was fresh installed around 6 month ago.

Most SSDs have downloadable software to make it "super easy and fast" to move to an ssd. Now SSDs store the data differently then HDDs, will there be any issue or downdraw in performance or trimming if I just clone the boot partition to the ssd, instead of installing a fresh version?

Always best to do a fresh install and start with a clean slate. Migration software that is about works fine. Only if your os has been installed on a hdd that is in IDE mode be slow as the ssd would be in IDE mode. Optimal performance is in AHCI mode.
