My mouse is slow/laggy when windows is booted.
When im in my uefi bios is perfectly fine (very smooth and responsive) but when windows is booted it suddenly becomes slightly laggy, I have the latest drivers for my mouse, it works perfectly fine on my laptop. the only times my mouse isnt laggy is when i boot a game like League of Legends up and it goes into the fullscreen where you would have to press esc to exit the game. Ive tried a few things such as Gamebooster, defragmenting and i also scanned for a virus but none of them helped or offered a solution, ill leave my specs below
Custom built pc
i5 3570K overclocked @ 4.2 Mhz
Corsair vengeance blue 2x4 Gb 1600Mhz
Asus p8z77-v Motherboard
Seagate 1tb 7200 Rpm Hard drive
80+ bronze 750W psu
Intel hd 4000 Graphics (buying a gtx 670 or 660ti soon)
Thanks for any answers
WHAT model mouse are you using? and are you using the latest drivers? and do you have the dpi set crazy?
Ah, theres the problem, the i5 3570K isn't nearly powerful to provide smooth mouse movement...
I'm being a jack ass.
Try a few things if you can:
- If you have one available, try another mouse
- Try plugging the mouse in another USB port, perhaps a PS/2 port if you have an adaptor available
- If you have Windows Aero on, try turning it off
- Check other USB devices to ensure something crazy isn't happening to your USB ports
- Boot the computer in safe mode, see if the issue is visble in safe mode
Report back with the results of these.
other mice are exactly the same in terms of lag , tried other ports and ill check the other 3 as soon as i can. thanks
Problem solved, the refresh rate on my monitor was being limited to 21 Hz by my Hd4000 graphics, set the rate back up to 60 and now my mouse is as smooth as butter
