Mouse Help

I have been a console gamer my whole life, but today that changed. I bought component and built a custom gaming PC. Everything is in  working order, and my OS has installed, so why am I posting here you ask?

The mouse I bought, a Roccat Kone XTD, does not show a cursor when it is plugged in. I am aware that firmware needs to be downloaded, but I can't hook up an Ethernet to the new PC yet (I am using my old, crappy computer if you want to know how I am posting here), so I downloaded the firmware onto a USB key and transferred the data. Still nothing. I checked their website to see if there was anything I missed. I couldn't find anything. So now I turn to the website of the YouTuber who helped my build my PC. I have no idea why this is happening, and was wondering:

a) If anybody else expeineced this problem, or if i is just me and a defective mouse

b) How this issue may have been resolved by others

c) If there is some obvious thing I missed that will easily fix the issue

I apologize if I post in the wrong area, or formatted this incorrectly, as this is my very first time using this website.

Thanks!

If a list of components will help it can be found here:

power off pc. unplug mouse. plug mouse back in. power on pc. if it doesn't work, try another usb port. try usb 2.0 port if you have it. Try several usb ports. If it still doesn't work, take mouse to another pc, plug it in, see if you can get it to work on their pc to see if its your pc or your mouse.
