Motherboards using the extra pins on 2011-v3 like the Asus x99 WS

So when the x99 WS board launched from Asus a big deal was made about the fact that they "reverse engineered the CPU" and figured out what the extra pins on the CPU did. Has any other manufactures done the same thing? I've done some basic searching but haven't had much luck finding anything and am pretty sure I'm not even searching for the right thing. Any help would be great. I know @MisteryAngel has a ton of knowledge and am hoping she'll chime in.

What the OC socket is basicly ment for, is improving overclock capability for cache and ram mainaly.

Asus boards basicly feuture this socket, but there are also other boards that feuture this socket.
Like the Asrock X99 OC Formula /3.1 for example.
I could look which specific boards also feuture that socket, but i need a few minutes to look it up.

No rush...I'm not looking to buy tonight...but I am wanting to upgrade in the near future.
