Is better this one,or same thing.I am thinking about getting one that will allow me to do a bit of overclock .Later maybe i will buy a more powerful Cpu...(later i mean in a couple of months) .
A PCI-e to sata adapter should work on just about anything
but I mean AM3+ in general, it's not very likely to get new CPUs, and i doubt anyone is going to release any USB type-C connection capable boards, I'm also not sure if any have PCI-e Gen 3
but my best advice is going to be get the adapter and save up for zen/kaby lake, they'll be a lot more future proof and should be coming next year
I guess it'd be up to you if you want to spend the extra money on a new motherboard, probably somewhere in the 100 range for a decent overclocking board
Msi 970A Gaming This is a future rich 970 board, which will be totaly fine to use a FX6300 on. You could also look at a 990FX chipset board, but honnestly i dont think its worth it in your case.
I will need to rethink my strategy.Maybe this is not the best thread where to discuss this, but i am a bit confused on where to move my pc,Amd or Intel.I have been always been an amd user but recently i'm seeing that at least the games that i'm playing are more Intel friendly, like Total War Rome 2 or Total War Attila. At some point i was thinking in buying a intel proc,i5 more precise, but for this i will need more or less 400-500euros(proc and motherboard). At the end i just want a pc that will play latest games at 1080p without breaking the bank....
Haha, Logan's appearance has a pro wrestler vibe, with his beard and hair like that.
I would just like to add, this was a great board! I've had mine nearly five years already! It doesn't work with Speedfan though, and AISuite leaves much to be desired in fan control.
I say was, because it's old now. This would definitely not be futureproof, so I don't recommend it. If you're going to get it though, get the Gen 3, the latest revision. They dropped support for mine about a month after I got it, because the Rev. 2 came out. I had no idea. >_<
well if you can afford an i5 then just do it realy. Fx6300 is basicly totaly fine for a 280X. But if you ever have planes to upgrade to a more higherend gpu. Then an i5 will definitely make sense in allot of cpu bound games at 1080p.
locked i5-4460 + H97 / B85 board wont realy break the bank i think. But you could ofc also look at an i5 with higher clocks if you like to.
May i ask what EU country you live? Maybe i can help with finding parts.
So i will need to upgrade the gpu too? The i5 4460+H97 / B85 i think that is ok with the budget i have for this. Will this configuration be ok within 2months?Or something new will come that i will need to take in consideration? I live in Italy. Thanks a lot,to you and to others that are helping me,really!
It works out that way mostly because games want better single threaded performance over multi-threaded performance, so intel is better overall in those cases, though games like Total War and ARMA are just total CPU hogs. I believe an i5 and an i7 perform nearly the same in total war
But if you can hold out until next year, you're going to get a 40%-50% performance jump for your money with kaby lake/zen
you dont need to upgrade the gpu. 280X is still a totaly fine gpu for 1080p gaming. Thats why i said "if" you have ever planes for upgrading the gpu.
If you are totaly happy with the performance you get right now. Then you can basicly also just upgrade the mobo. That would ofc be the cheapest solution if all you care about is just getting Sata 6gb/s support for your SSD.
Maybe will be better to safe my money and go for Intel stuff. But when this new cpu from Intel will come, from what i have seen release date is the end of 2016...
Your FX6300 + 280X is still capable for 1080p gaming realy. You should still be able to play most AAA games without much issues, Disable some filters and you should be fine realy. I would personaly save a bit more money and do cpu + mobo + gpu upgrade lateron.
Also an SSD wil basicly work on sata II aswell, just not at its full potential speed. But It will still be better then a mechanical HDD anyway.
