Motherboard to cpu compatibility

Hello guys,

I am new member but I hope you can help me. I have an old laptop with 32bit processor. And I am trying to upgrade it. I think I found few interesting CPUs that hypothetically should be compatible with the socket in my laptop. However all of them are 64bits. my question is: How can I check if my laptop motherboard is compatible with 64bit processor.

Thanx for response.

by the way your YouTube channel is awesome.

Far out how old is this laptop? A quick google of your laptop model should yield results of what socket it is.

You'll have to ask youself the question whether or not its worthwhile even upgrading a tired old laptop when you can buy a cheap new one or half decent second hand one.

form performance point of view it would be easier to buy new laptop however i want to play with my old laptop without spending to much many.

from results on Google the socket support 64bit however I am concern if north/south bridge will support it as well. and i cannot find this anywhere
