So I RMAed my Crosshair V Formula more than a month ago. They claimed it was void of warranty because of oxidation. They told me it would cost about 150 for a replacement, I could get a newer equivalent for like 50 bucks more. So I said no I wont pay to replace a motherboard to get a used one in its place. So they ended up sending it, I received it today. As soon as I open the box to check it, I notice something that should not be. The north and south bridge chipset heatsink wasn't mounted to the board properly. They left a few of the mounts unmounted. So it was loose. We know the Mobo was damaged by the power supply, not due to the oxidation. Anyways they sent it back in worse condition than they had received it. Should this be cause for the warranty to be unvoided? I mean the fact that they sent it back in worse condition than when they received it. The motherboard may be scratched up now, because it was sent with a heatsink that was not mounted on it. They will probably give me the same offer of 150, but that is like saying I send in a car for one problem and that problem turns out not to be covered. In the inspection process they forgot to reattach the break lines.
P.S. this isnt a question about the mobo but about ASUS custom service and RMA.
