Motherboard Over kill or Under kill

For a HTPC and stream box. (using Plex)
MSI A88XM GAMING

I chooses this MB because of the 6 sata ports but Intel has more but for a lot more money so I'm trying to keep cost down in my build. Any suggestions in what a good option for a HTPC MB. I'm trying to keep a budget under $500-ish

In addition to the build

CPU: AMD A10-7700K

Ram: G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200)

PSU: SeaSonic G Series 550-Watt

And your mother board is WAY overkill. You are talking a gaming board designed to go almost all out for a fairly standard build.
