Motherboard might be fried?

So, this morning I started doing my first build ever, standard AMD gaming build. I started plugging in all the parts, CPU, cooler, RAM, GPU, PSU, and started connecting all the cables. Now, when I got to the front panel cables, I started to plug them into the headers that corresponded with the label on the cord. Once I got to the PLED header, I blindly plugged in the cables. I didn't take negatives, and positives in mind. So, once I finished plugging in the rest of the cables, I plugged the power cord into the outlet, and pressed the power button. It didn't turn on. I originally thought that I had messed something up as I was a beginner, and decided to start over. Keeping the PSU, motherboard, CPU, cooler, and RAM in the case as it was already mounted, I removed the rest of the parts, and unplugged the cables. I started to re-plug in the front panel cables, and had a look into the users manual when I found out about the negatives in positives. So, I plugged each front panel cable up, and once again tried to power the PC. And, it didn't start again.

I was wondering if I has quite possibly fried my PC, or if I need to plug more into it before it can power?

did you plugin the 8 pin cpu power connector?

Yes, I did. My PSU is modular, so I plugged in both of the cords that are attached to the brick

is it possible you could of gotten some thermal paste on the mobo?

Nope, the thermal paste was pre-applied as I was using an AMD CPU with it's stock fan.

Do you have the motherboard manual because it will have the correct pin layout for the front panel buttons and LEDs?

Also can we get a parts listing?

@dpkg I built the PC the first time, and it wouldnt turn on. So, I unplugged everything aside from the motherboard, CPU, cooler, PSU, and RAM, and re-plugged all of the cables accordingly following the manual that time, and it still has yet to turn on.

ASROCK 970 PRO3 R2.0
AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz
XFX RADEON R7 260x 2GB
Crucial 6GB (2GB x 3)
Corsair CX Series 600 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80+ Bronze
Thermaltake Versa H22

did you turn on the PSU power switch?

Yes, I did. Still nothing.

can you test to make sure your PSU is working?

Just tried it, and the power supply is functional. The fan began to spun as soon as I turned the switch to ON.

The only thing that would happen by mixing up the LED leads is no led, it would not fry anything, something else is going on there. If it was me I would disconnect the power button leads and "jump" the two pins to see if anything happens, lights fans beeps etc

Dont take for granted that the +'ve and -'ve thats written on the front io connectors are 100% correct, I've been trolled that way before.
Best way is to unplug all of those front panel connectors and test by pushing the power button (if your mb has one) or just shorting the + & - pins with a small flathead screwdriver. If doesnt boot, then look to other hardware for being at fault. If it does boot, test out each pair of front io cables.

Tried cleaning a pc with same motherboard. Machine turns on but no display other then a splash screen with asrock logo and xboot off. Then to a black screen with just the letter e.

They say I killed it.

After taking it apart, and building it for a third time; It's a success! The PC starts, the fans spin, etc. However, the monitor I purchased is VGA, and my GPU doesn't support VGA, it only supports DVI and HDMI. So, I have to buy an adapter before I can actually do anything else. Appreciate the help, guys.

That's kinda odd that your GPU did not come with a DVI to VGA adapter, I thought most come with them by default.
