Motherboard memory issues!

So Basically I have this motherboard by asrock b75 pro3-m and I have one set of 1600Mhz Ram with the standard 1600 ram timings although On my motherboard it only has 1333 and lover showing up in my bios and I am wanting to get it up to the 1600Mhz it says the only issue I have with doign this ia all motherboards have different layouts so if anyone using a asrock motherboard that could help me or anyone that could help me on how to do it that would be excellent!

Kindest regards,

Dave.

1600MHz is the RAMs rated speed but 1600 is not the initial speed it starts at. All ram actually start at a speed lower then its rated so you the customer will need to bring to rated speed. This is where I will usually say set your X.M.P. to profile 1 but because B75 doesn't support X.M.P. you will need to do this the old fashioned way.

Go into you BIOS and find the RAM overclocking settings, then set your speed to 1600 (or if its a multiplier set it to 16), next check your timings to make sure they are at their rated timings, and finally go to the voltage options and make sure your RAM's voltage is at its rated value as well. Save and exit the BIOS and you should have 1600MHz RAM

thanks for the response although one thing to note the ram settings only allow me to se it to 1333 some how or lover also on the specs of my mobo on the asrock website it dose support XMP
