hi all
im building a new pc for my nephew, he wants a cheap gaming pc, i was looking at getting an fx-4300 and an asus m5a78l-m/usb3 motherboad would this be a good combo for would he wants or would he be able to get away with fx-6300 instead as its now much more, i know this motherboard has a 4+1 power phase design
many thanks
What is your budget? I myself would go with the 6300 and an ASUS M5A97 LE. (Id go with the 6300 no matter the board you choose)
I'm from the uk so my budget for CPU and motherboard is about 120, would the fx6300 work ok on the m5a78L or would it burn it out because of it power draw
The only FX processor(s) that you shouldn't run on a 4+1 power phase is the 8320/8350. The 6300 would be fine with stock clocks.
I would get a different motherboard though, something with a 970 chipset
Do you think i would be able to do any kind of over clocking with that board
