Hey guys.

I'm planning on a build and have a few questions.

The board is a Asus Maximus 8 Hero. In my build I will have 8 Fans.

2x intake, 3x exhaust, 1x bottom intake, and 2x Noctua cpu cooler.

According to Asus's site the board comes with:

4 x Chassis Fan connector(s) (4 -pin)

1 x CPU Fan connector(s) (4 -pin)

1 x CPU OPT Fan connector(s) (4 -pin)

My question is, If i use a Y cable to connect the noctua cooler to the
Cpu fan header, can i use the OPT fan connector as a regular fan header
for the top exhaust fan?

I'd suggest you go X99 rather than getting that board, you can also just get 3 pin to Molex adapters, some 120mm fan 4 packs come with them, or the fans have molex on them in this case

Also overall I wouldn't say that a noctua cooler is worth it, what build were you going to get?
