Motherboard and RAM compatibility (frequency)

This is probably a stupid question but bear with me.

I've got a good deal and I'm able to pick up 8GB of Kingston Beast ram at 2400. However the motherboards that I'm buying only support 2133. Is the RAM still going to function without incompatibilities.I'm guessing the RAM would just run at 2133 but I just want to make sure.

I don't care if the RAM speed goes down to 2133 as long as it works.

It will probably boot at 1333mhz. You can set up the xmp profile from there and see if it boots. If not you will have to manually enter the timings.
