My mother wants a phone that makes nice pictures, even in lowlight conditions.
I understand all the flagship phones (6s, s6, g4...) have good cameras, but I'm looking for something that wouldnt break the bank. absolute price limit is 500€. She told me she doesnt need all the bs that those pricy phones have, she just wants a good camera. She's heard a lot about Huawei from shop assistants that are clearly trying to push it, last year I've seen Huawei signs fucking everywhere...the goddamn chinese (jk)
Maybe a Nokia Lumia 1020. It's a windows phone but it has a 41 megapixel camera.
That was my first thought but I feel a Windows phone would be a nightmare for a non-tech savvy user like her
Dont know if its any good for pictures really, but OnePlus X goes 249€ and in every Tuesday you dont need invite to buy one.
They dont sell Asus Zenfone 2 in EU, and then there is Huawei whatever just updated a year late to earlier Android version, soo.. I'd say anyone is going to just regret getting that one.
Honor is using Huawei's stuff I think? so maybe you could look if any of those fits for what you need.
In any case I wont go higher with phone, better just buy another Fury Tri-X for 549€. :D
one plus is not an option, she has to buy it in a store because she's using some state teacher bonus and she needs receipts that you dont get online
Pretty much all phones, even budget ones have a decent camera and easy editors so it shouldnt matter too much which phone you choose, take a look at other features of the phone and go with one that suits her needs, e.g. storage, battery life, does she want a big screen or need 4g etc
she wants a screen around 5 inches, so she has some space to type, her last phone gave her problems with that. but anything more than 5 I feel would be a problem to handle, she has little hands
The Huawei Honor series are good ~5 inchers with big batteries and good cameras, and they're relatively cheap. Downside is small storage (altho they have an sd card slot so not a huge deal)
Good for 'normal' users who don't root or use custom roms.
If you want a camera which can take good low light pictures, then look somewhere other than cell phones. Most smartphones use sensors that can't absorb very much light because of how small they are.
If you want cellphones with really good daylight shots and DECENT lowlight shots, then basically heres a short list: Iphone 6/6s, LG G4/V10, Samsung S6/Note 5, Nexus 6P.
Of course, there are other phones in the market which take good pictures, but those are the first few to come to my head.
If your mother takes her time with the pictures, as in, messing with manual settings, she can possibly get some pretty nice shots. Logan made a video recently about camera's ISO's and other settings and how they affect pictures. Changing those settings can help a lot when taking pictures, compared to using the auto setting, even in low light.
EDIT: I just read that your mom would like a phone at around 5inches, so your best bet for a good phone camera would be an Iphone 6/6s or even Sony's Compact line of smartphones.
Windows phones aren't very difficult to use and probably easier than android in my opinion. If you're looking for a simple OS with a decent camera an I-phone will be your best bet.
The higher end Nokia's are great for pictures, but there is also the Samsung Galaxy Zoom which has optical Zoom and a lens on it. Most over look it, also you might find it cheap on ebay.
Love mine.
The Lumia 930 would be a good option, as it has a 20 megapixel camera. It has a two-stage dedicated camera button, and the camera interface is very intuitive. The Lumia 950 has a better camera, but it is a more expensive phone.
