More or faster RAM?

So i was just wondering what would be better for a gaming and rendering pc. 12 GB 2133 RAM or 16 GB 1866 RAM? (also, would a motherboard supporting 2100 Mhz also support 2133 Mhz? Asking because on the page where i buy the hardware they have boards that support 2100 but no 2100 RAM).

I read on a post that the processor wouldn't be able to use all of the speed. it's going with an AMD fx-8350.

Well... That's a hard one. I would go with 16gb. But depends on how stable and what it is :P.

And I've never heard of a motherboard supporting 2100mhz.. They might mean 2133 but w/e :D

If you look at the benchmarks RAM bandwidth doesnt matter that much as latency - thats because the most software you are likely to run is either CPU limited, GPU limited or random access to RAM limited. There are of course use cases for higher bandwidth RAM but if you have to ask youre unlikely to be there.

More RAM is better.

Decently faster.
