Will it be able to drive my Sennheiser 598 set at proper volume.
It would totally be able to run your 50ohm headphones, this supports 300ohms. Someone on reddit did a brief review of it here. Dude compared it to an O2+DAC so I suppose it has to be at least okay.
I'd be curious to hear about more reviews for it, though.
This explains why my old K-240s do not work with MOBO audio alone, the old ones I have are 600OHm the new ones are 50 or 55. also explains why the old set still sounds better.

I would have, But the spec sheet is older than I am, and gone. K-240 sextets are like my age or older.
Well the 11% off coupon in my email inbox was enough to entice me to pull the trigger, I will post the results later once I receive it and run it through the paces.
I can vouch for Monoprice quality. 11% is more worth it on something more than $50 like this (I own a bunch of cheap things from Monoprice)
Monoprice was super fast with the shipping and I received the amp the next day even though I paid for 3-5 day shipping. I finally had the time today to kick in the tires and its a big winner to me. My only reference is the Soundblaster Z/X that I was using, The audio is nice and clear with no signs of hiss detected at full volume. Its drives my Sennhieser 598 set very well and will get very loud and does a decent job driving my Sennhieser 350SE set to moderate levels that i use to game with anyways. It is well worth its price if you ask me.
