Monitor: LG 24GM77-B vs BenQ XL2411Z vs BenQ XL2430T vs Asus VG248QE vs Acer Predator GN246HLB

Hey guys, I am looking to upgrade my equipment and I would love to have a 144hz monitor with ~2ms reaction time. The lower the ms the better.

I definitely want a 144Hz monitor. Mostly for gaming but also for office and stuff.
I also would like to have good colors. 24inch is what i want.

I´ve heard that the LG24MG77-B is the one I am looking for since I also want to enjoy movies and videos on a really high quality and in awesome colors.

So my question is: LG 24GM77-B or BenQ XL2411Z or BenQ XL2430T or Asus VG248QE or Acer Predator GN246HLB and why? :D And what are the differences between these? Do you know where I can compare them or find out all the data about these monitors?

The monitor should cost between 200€ and ~300€

Thanks a lot!! :)

None of the high refresh rate panels in your price range are going to be IPS or VA, so you won't have great color reproduction for movies and such if you end up with one, and really high refresh rate panels are only worth it if you're really into competitive gaming, otherwise just get a 1440p IPS display, or save up for a 4k IPS display

In addition none of the high refresh rate panels in your price range are going to come with free-sync(for sure not G-sync) so again, probably not worth it exactly

1440p IPS, 300 EU

For just a bit more than that you can get a 4k IPS display, though at 24" 4k is not too useful really, but it's only like 80 more so, might as well

I have the BenQ XL2411Z, got to say i like it, haven't had any issues, games handle well, runs and does what it says it will, colour is actually OK, but not as good as more expensive panels (but i bought it for gaming so..... to be expected....) yet despite this with some extra settings changes/pre-sets i get decent enough colour reproduction. I should note that i have not used any of the other panels so my advice is limited to that and anecdotal... but all round, it has been a good monitor, with no issues, good refresh, 1ms (although im not sure any monitor really gets to their advertised refresh consistently)...

Thanks, but i really want to get one.

What exactly is free-sync? Isnt it that gpu and monitor will interact better together relating to frames per second?
I am not quite sure. Another thing is I found out that my monitor atm is TN-Panel as well and its fine for me. So colours shoudnt be a problem :D

Sure I would love to get the asus rog swift since it has 1440p IPS i think and 144hz. But it´s around 750€ and I will not pay that much for "just" a monitor.

So do you know which of the above monitors or maybe a different one with 144hz and < 3ms respond time has the best colour?

Thanks again :)

Alright thanks. Yeah, I have actually almost only heard good things about the monitors above which makes it problematic for me to decide ^^

I have the LG 24GM77, IMO it has more accurate colors and slightly better contrast than the benq. I am very impressed with the quality. I would highly recommend it over the Benq. I tried the Asus VG248QE but the colors were horrible and I could not fix them with calibration, the LG on the other hand was amazing right out of the box and even better after calibration.

yea i did find the colours kind of faded and washed out in comparison to some other monitors i have used, but i drop the hz of the panel and fiddle with some settings and it does get a little better.... but i would say only marginally... @abgeher2000, if you want a better balance between the two (with still a lean towards gaming) i think @Dalbry91 may be right.... based on the things i have also heard... i dont do photo/video content and any movies/video i watch on a tv i have hooked up to my system anyway...

I would stick to a nice Ips pannel. They have some with 5mm response time, thats plenty good unless you want a other monitor to watch movies on I would get something that works well for mutli use. I have a Asus monitor and its Ips 1080p and 5mm response time and I love it works great. Don't over spend for extras you will not need or use.

How did you calibrate the LG? Cause I will probably get this one.
Unless I can get the Asus for ~170€ which is 100€ less

And to all the others. I will get 144hz definitely, im just considering which one :D

If you use a TN display long enough though your eyes will start to bleed purple

Seriously though once you go IPS there ain't no going back, being able to see the display from any angle is fairly useful, more so than having a higher refresh rate

But otherwise you'll just have to look at reviews for each of the monitors, look how much SRGB they support and all that

I used a ColorMunki calibration device. If you are interested I can share the hardware settings on my monitor. And the ICC Profile as well.

Yup, settings would be nice.
And What are ICC Profiles?

I have my brightness at 20 (approx. 150 cd) Red - 50, Blue - 45, Green - 45, everything else default. Also keep Das mode on.

Okay, thanks.
