So I have a decent (I think higher end) gaming/rendering PC.
But now I feel I need to update my monitor.
I'm currently using a 1080p LG 32" TV...
Not sure if relevant but i'm running an OC'd 8320 (4.41ghz), 16Gb Ram, on a Asus Sabretooth board, a pair of Corsair Force 3 SSDs, and an Asus HD7770 2GB graphics card.
I think I want to go higher resolution, and or multiple monitors. My budget isn't too specific, bang for buck is always great but I'm willing to pay for performance. To throw a ballpark out there I'm not afraid to pay 500 for a single monitor but no more than a thousand if im getting 3. And screen size isn't too terribly important but I have gotten used to my 32".
Just wanting opinions and I thank you for your help.
You will need a video card upgrade before you drop $500 on a monitor or monitor's' the HD7770 is a entry 1080p video card buying a top spec monitor for that card will be worthless when you can get a 1080p 22" for $100.
a couple of http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009483 they have almost NO bezel. its like a 3/8th black strip around the monitor. almost nothing. IPS screen, 5ms response time.
three of those will be 500. but you'll need a display-port to DVI active adapter (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812270280) and two more DVI cables.
and with the extra bills from only spending 550 on monitors?
get a 7970! their 350 now! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121560 (bonus points for actually having the power to play games in eyefinity)
Yeah I knew I was weak in the GPU department. Picked up the 7770 for next to free off a friend to get by. Thanks Signal I had no idea it had dropped so much, but because I have a great job, am single, and all I do is play games, If I step up to the 7970 why not go all the way to 7990?
But I think thats the plan. I'm liking the low bezel 3 monitor display plan. But i know i need better GPU to do it. Yay now I'm motivated to go to work everyday. I have a mission again.
