Monitor Calibrator

What Calibrator's do you guys use and what would you recommend in the <$200 range.

Keep in mind I've never had one before.

My eyes.

How much do you want for them...... Joking, I was thinking about doing it that way but I don't know what would be considered realistic colour.

It's easy to adjust gamma (http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/gamma_calibration.php) by yourself but adjusting white to be color-neutral and getting proper color balance is hard. It would be convenient to be able to borrow a calibrator from someone.

I'm guess you don't do print work then?

I do not.

I only dabble with any serious photo editing. I've been wanting to get more into it, but I can't spare the time.

X-Rite do some good ones in your price range, i'm In the UK, but think something like the i1 Display Pro should be in your range, or a second hand X-Rite ColorMunki? (The newer Monitor & Printer Calibrator are really cool)

Thanks, I now have some where to start. One thing I do want to ask though, does the more expensive calibrators have better accuracy or do they just have more feature sets

i just adjust until it looks about right, i also try to buy something nice like dell in the first place, or i put my nice-ish dell next to it and adjust until they match
