Monitor attached to KVM wont display with dedicated GPUs but works with IGPUs

Hello all,

I am setting up a home lab network rack containing 7 computers, and I want to manage them through my KVM, and gigabyte monitor. When I switch the KVM to a PC that has integrated graphics, the monitor display works as expected, but displays “HDMI2 No Signal” when switching to a machine that uses a dedicated card. I tested the KVM using a Viewsonic monitor and I experienced no issues, so the problem seems localized to using the gigabyte monitor. I’d like to know how to fix this, and get a deep understanding for why this problem occurred.

Equipment are as follows:

Monitor(s)

KVM

USB Switch

GPUs

CPUS

AMD Ryzen 7950x
AMD Ryzen 5600x
AMD Ryzen 5600g
AMD Ryzen Pro 4650ge x2
AMD Ryzen Pro 2400ge

What Ive Tried So far

  1. Swapping different hdmi cables between the monitor and kvm, and between the kvm and host computers
  2. Updating the firmware on my M28u monitor
  3. Lowering screen resolution to 60hz in windows display settings
  4. Turning off the M28u’s built in KVM
