I need some help in picking a modular or a non modular powersupply. Is it really worth it? Im going to skills usa TEXAS to compete. And you get points for how it looks and how clean it is. But i have a Cooler master storm trooper it is a huge case with a lot of cable managment... So is it really with me getting the modular one with this case??? LOVE THIS SITE, YOU GUYS ALWAYS HELP WITH NO PROBLEMS :)
Yes. But in my personal opinion if your doing "competition" builds, you have to get 100% modular, not semi modular. It also makes sleeving the cables waaaay easier later. Even with a ton of space in a case, it can be a real nightmare hiding that many cables.
If it's for competition, yes get fully modular, and it is hard to recommend a power supply without knowing what color scheme your looking for. Just go with what looks the best, I recently built a computer for a customer using the Rosewill LIGHTNING from newegg, it was a beauty.
a spec list of your machine would go a long way, if you want our opnion on what would look good in your machine in the psu department, if your coulor scheme will compliment it, i would reccomend one of the corsairs new i series psu's as they look god damn slick, and they look like they have strong and clean build to em.
Truthfully the best "modable" PSU's are silverstones fully modular psu's (just get the wattage you need) or corsairs AX series. Seasonics PSU's use these caps, and have really annoying wiring for custom sleeving. Just saying, been there done that. Its all possible, just more annoying with different brands.
