Model M and Linux

Good morning. I've just bought my first model M keyboard. Everything is pretty good, except I can't get control-c or control-z to work in a terminal. I've never seen this problem before. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Os version? As I believe a number of distros don't actually support this function inside the terminal for some reason.

Does for example ctrl+v work, but not ctrl+c? If none of them work try ctrl+shift+whatever.

what version of the model m do you have?
I know there are some with a USB connector, PS2 or AT Terminal

What distro do you have?

Current OS version is Ubuntu Gnome 17.04. The keyboard is BOSCOM from 2009 with a PS2 connector. The control key works everywhere but in the terminal. For instance control-k lets me search in a browser. It's a 122 key keyboard btw. The sticker on the back says Unicomp Model M. Part number BO40B56.

Looks like the keyboard has an issue. I bought 2 at the same time and the other one works just fine. I guess caps lock for ctrl it is.
