I'm building my first gaming pc for christmas this year and got a Asrock 880GM-LE FX motherboard, and after looking at it, i've noticed only 2 3-pin fan power slots, i was wondering how i could plug in the 6 fans my case supports. My case is a NZXT classic gamma black.
there are many ways to do this but some require your MB be high end to achieve. Here are a few
3pin to molex adapter
2x3pin to 1 3pin adapter to mb(not all your fans will make it)
fan controller
adapter that lets all 3pin connect to it (couldn't find one with quick search but look at the NZXT switch 810, it has one behind the side wall where you hide cables)
I was looking at fan controllers, but i havpen't done enough research to know what is a reliable brand. Could you suggest any, because that seems the easiest to do with it plugging right into the psu and offering 4-6 3-pin connectors
I got the white version of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&N=-1&isNodeId=1&Description=bitfenix+Recon&x=0&y=0
They are fairly nice, just stick them on auto and setup the temp probes correctly (match the fan with the probe closest to where its gonna cool.) But they do only support 5 fans max.
its not the brightest idea to dasiy chain multiple fans off the one connector on your mobo btw...
I was looking at that, and the nzxt single bay one as well, but I'm leaning more towards non-lcd as i'm worried about the screen dieing on me, and i'm not as worried about monitoring temps, as much as just making sure i can use all 6 fan slots. any suggestions for ones that are just dials that are reliable?
They are fairly basic LCD screens I doubt they will die before anything else does in your PC, but if u want things with nobs: http://www.bitspower.com/html/product/product02.aspx?kind=43&kind2=43
They will be the most reliable you can get.
