So Im getting ready to buy my last few parts to my pc and I am wondering what motherboard to get, I have a i7-4770k and was planning on getting MSI gaming 7 just incase later I wanted to up grade my CPU, is that a good plan or should I go with something else/run into any problems with those two parts? (I have a evga 780 sc)
I own the gaming 7. I have to hand it to MSI, for the $189 I spent, it is more like a mid $250 board. It has so much USB support it is just crazy (8 USB 3.0 ports), including dedicated device, audio, and charging ports. The bios is nice and clean. The built in audio chip is great as long as you aren't an audio crazed type.
As for the upgrading part, it is a Z97 LGA 1150 board so you are good through Broadwell. Compared to other Z97 boards in the price range compared feature for feature, it can't be beat.
The Gaming 7 is a pretty good board. I don't know what CPU you plan to use or upgrade to, or what you want to do with the computer though, so I can't really suggest a whole lot.
