Hey guys, i am kinda on a hunt for an upgrade on my PC. So i came to the decision of the fx-8350 after a decent amount of research. My question is will my current motherboard work with this cpu? I do plan on upgrading the motherboard in a month or so after i buy the cpu (if i do) once i get the money. Ok so thank u everyone and here is the mobo that i have right now:
I really don't recommend 970 chipsets for 8350 CPU as they are very power hungry, especially if you overclock them. You will want a superior power phase design instead of the 4+1 you will get on this board. I would recommend a Asus M5A99X Evo r2.0 as it comes with a 6+2+2 powerphase, which will give you a nice, stable overclock. Along with keeping you components cool and increasing their longevity. If that is to high from you budget, the only 970 board I would recommend in the Asus M5A97 r2.0 as it does come with a 4+2, but the quality of parts used will help sustain a decent overclock, unlike other 970 boards.
well be a bit carefull with this, you can offcourse run it for a month but dont overclock, and enable, all power saving options. so that the vrm´s are not constantly under full load.
I would recommend to turn things arround buy a new / better mobo now, and the FX8350 the next month. trowing your current cpu on a better mobo, can never hurt. otherway arround the FX8350 on that msi board can hurt. just my opinnion ☺
It also saves you alot of work, wenn you buy your new cpu, next month, you only have to change the cpu then, not the complete motherboard, thats less work!!
