MMO Mouse

Hello,

I'm looking for an MMO mouse (mostly playing wow). The budget is up to 80€ without postage. The only one I could find in that budget was Razer Naga Chroma. I'm purchasing on amazon.de.

That's probably one of the best options as long as the Nagas form fits you. It's slightly upsweeping buttons and the fact that Razer requires registration for their drivers makes it uncomfortable for me, but many MMO'ers seem to like it.

I was recently lucky enough to find a Roccat Nyth on a sale for below 60€, but they tend to be over 100€. I'm still mainly on my last Logitech G600(a model which is fast going the way of the Dodo bird), but the Nyth's modular thumb buttons can be quite handy.

Logitech G600

that is all.

As far as the naga chroma... if you don't want rgb just get the non chroma version (idk if it's still made anymore in lieu of this rgb craze we have going on).

A logitech G600 should be pretty cheap I think. I got min for 60USD.

The Corsair Scimitar is an option, however it's about 2-8 Euros over your budget.

It's $45 on amazon US and 110€ on DE :((

Yeah it's Logitech who aren't making any more of the G600 so they're disappearing everywhere. I've been hoping for a direct replacement model from Logitech, but have sadly heard nothing. That third real mouse button is golden.

D: well its worth it trust me.

My rankings. This is all personal opinion. All these mice function well. All three of these are on sale for around $20 off the normal price on Amazon (US) at the moment.

  1. I love the Razer Naga personally (I use it for everything). I like the shape the most, and I like how the buttons aren't sloped as much as other MMO mice. I also love how clicky the side buttons are, and how pronounced the ring finger rest is.

  2. The Corsair Scimitar is a good one. The side buttons slide forward and back to fit different hand sizes, but they're kinda mushy in my opinion. They're also very flat, and Corsair has opted to use alternating textures instead of sloped buttons. The ring finger rest is less pronounced than the Naga, but it has a really nice rubber grip on it.

  3. The Logitech G600 is a good choice, but I don't like the shape personally. I think the body is too flat, and I don't like how drastically sloped the side buttons are.

There are other cheap brands like the Utechsmart Venus, Redragon Perdition, Redragon M990, and Perixx MX-3100. I can't personally speak in terms of their quality, as I have never owned any of them, but they all have 4/5 stars or better on Amazon. I'm actually really curious about the Perixx now.

I bought one a few years ago and the Razor Synapse software was a nightmare. In the middle of a windows upgrade (through the Win10 betas). It would pop up in the middle of the install screen to update itself. Nearly every other day to nagged to update itself. At that time it prompted for a restart as well. This was for one razer naga mouse.

I only dualboot to play skyrim was it seems to have settled a little now and doesnt seem to need a restart after updates.

On linux the side buttons are just number keys.

I'm not a fan of Razer. Sorry, its IMO, I feel like you can get better for the price of a lot of their products, but that being said everyone makes their stuff in the same factories in China sooooo

Anyway, I roll a Logitech G502 myself. I have two of these. Its more suited for FPS, but I roll MMOs with it all the time. If you're near a computer store like Micro Center, go and physically see the mouse you're looking at getting. I've found that some of the mice I've looked up aren't as great in person with my long fingers. Fit is a lot for me which is why I'm not a fan of the Naga. I use a g502 at work as well for 8+hours if that says anything.
