i agree completely, i was just trying to point out that the title was misleading on that one premise alone. i think (and im not sure) that as you said this is the first '3d' object made from graphene that managed to preserve its properties. i'm not a materials scientist so i dont know if the strength of steel changes depending on its thickness, but intuition tells me it does.

i.e. a sheet of steel 1 atom thick would be incredibly flimsy and weak, where as a block 5cm x 5cm would be massively different.

maybe thats why this '3d' structure is 5 x stronger, as apposed to 200x stronger, but again thats just me filling in blanks, that should have been filled in by the author, but this is more sensationalist news, than scientific paper.
