Hi all!
I have recently bought a new system after my ancient ivy bridge system finally kicked the bucket.
After finding no less than 3 different menus where you can change ram settings I have finally gotten my Kingston ECC ram running at 6000mhz with pretty decent timings.
I’m however still looking for a couple things:
Support for S2idle, s0ix, modern standby or how the linux kernel seems to call it, suspend-to-idle. If I look at dmesg
, amdgpu tells me that this would improve it’s powersaving capabilities which is important to me. On my thinkpad(intel), sleep mode is changed from S3 to S2idle by toggling it from “linux” to “windows”(obviously linux supports this just fine). However, on this board the only thing you seem to be able to do is disable S3. Has somebody gotten s2idle support to work or is this just something that is not supported by this board?
While I have no delusions that these x86 platforms can somehow be secured against a local attacker and this being as desktop anyways I’d still like to enable the SPI and processor rollback protection. fwupdmgr security
seems to indicate that the SPI replay protection is “not supported” by the platform while the “Processor rollback protection” is available but I couldn’t find the menu to enable it. I saw a github issue that seemed to indicate that some board disable SPI rollback when certain other(unrelated) setting are enabled but I could not even find the appropriate menu. Has someone gotten this to work on their machine?
Thanks!
