Mint encryption

allright i have an ssd with Linux Mint and full disk encryption is there a way for me to reformat for use with other distro's?

any help is GREAT

Are you wanting to dual boot or just use a completely different OS?

If you encrypted with LUKS/dmcrypt, any linux distro will be able to work with it.

One thing, if you have an SSD with a SandForce controller, do not encrypt! Because the SandForce controller compresses data to achieve competitive speeds, and it can't compress encrypted data, it falls back to it's native hardware speed, which is about 150 MB/s instead of the 500+ MB/s you would get with the acceleration on unencrypted data.

thank u Zoltan i did not know that problem solved
