I just ordered a Minisforum BD795i se with the 16c/32t 7945hx, I got a steal here and will use it to replace my n100 mini pc that I mostly use for torrents and media serving to my tv.
I was wondering if there’s any tweaks that can be done to make this draw a little less idle power. Any bios tweaks recommendations?
In BIOS I guess you should make sure that all the C states and power saving features are enabled.
Have you tried powertop on the OS? It helps some devices on board to properly sleep when idling.
One last thing is disabling on board devices you’re not using. For example, I removed the wifi card out of my Proxmox mini PC because it was, even though not by much, impacting idle power consumption.
You can configure the TDP in the BIOS, which I suggest you do if that’s all you’re doing.
